Protected Areas and Nature Reserves
Charl regularly advises on legislation pertaining to Protected Areas, Nature Reserves and Wildlife Estates.
His family, through the Du Plessis Trust, was the original developer of Welgevonden Game Reserve where Charl was the Conveyancer when the reserve was established in 1995.
He served as a Director of Ingwelala Private Nature Reserve (2016-2022), and also served as a committee member on the Umbabat Steering Committee (2020 – 2022).
During this period, he acquired extensive knowledge of NEMPA (The National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act) which regulates the preservation and proclamation of Nature Reserves.
